돈에 대한 다양한 표현인 bucks, wonga, moolah, cheddar, bacon, bread, dough, brass, wads, green 등 문화적 배경 속에서 캐주얼하게 살펴볼 수 있는 money slang부터 레딧, 틱톡, 버즈피드, 왓츠앱 메시지, 팟캐스트, 경제학 교과서, 테크 기업 발표, 신문 기사, 링크드인 포스팅 등의 커뮤니케이션 환경에 이르기까지 돈에 대한 유연하고 풍부한 화법을 담았습니다.

buck은 미국 달러 US dollar 로 1달러, quid는 영국 파운드 UK pound로 1파운드를 표현하는 속어인 반면에, wonga는 일반적으로 돈을 가리키는 속어이다. 주로 영국과 오스트레일리아에서 사용되지만 드물게 미국이나 캐나다에서 사용되기도 한다. wonga는 대개 일상어에서 사용되고 장난스럽게 들린다. 다시 말해, wonga는 진지하게 사용되는 단어가 아니다. 가볍고 이상하게 들리기 때문에 장난스런 어조로 사용하는 경우가 많다. 따라서 돈이나 지불과 관련된 우스갯소리를 할 때 wonga를 사용하는 경우가 많다. 단어 자체가 우

된다. 헤지가 비금융적 맥락에서 사용되면 관목이나 덤불로 이루어진 물리적 장벽을 가리킨다. 이와 비슷하게 헤지펀드도 위험을 상쇄하고 제한함으로써 손실가능성을 최소화할 장벽이 된다. a hedge fund는 a mutual fund와 구분되어야 한다. a mutual fund는 모든 투자자에게 허용되고 상대적으로 장기적인 특징을 띠는 반면에, a hedge fund는 승인된 고액 순자산 보유자 high net-worth individual 들에게만 접근이 허용되고 단기적인 수익에 초점을 맞춘다.
